Nuclear Power in Asia Post-Fukushima

One of the most significant outcomes of my time at CAPSS was the publication of my book, Nuclear Power in Asia Post-Fukushima.

First published by KW Publishers in 2023, the book was subsequently selected for republication by Routledge. It grew from my interest in how the Fukushima Daiichi accident changed the conversation around nuclear power across Asia.

The book examines the evolving role of nuclear energy through four interconnected perspectives:

• Energy security
• Public policy
• Geopolitics
• Sustainable development

Rather than treating Fukushima as only a technological or environmental disaster, the book considers how it influenced public debates, government decisions and the strategic importance of nuclear energy in the region.

Its publication represents an important milestone in my research and reflects my broader interest in the intersections between energy, geopolitics and climate change.
